About Me

Born in Australia, my first trip to the Philippines was in 1983. I stayed some 18 months, and felt the effects of the murder of Ninoy Aquino just a few weeks after I arrived, witnessed the growth of the popularity of his wife who took the Presidency of the country after Ferdinand Marcos was tossed out of the country, and have spent a lot of time in and out of the Philippines, studying, watching events unfold, and raising some lovely kids both in the Philippines and in Australia.
Lechon is good, life is ok, this is a land of great contrasts, beauty and ugliness, law and disorder, honour and disrespect and many other praiseworthy and sometimes upsetting things. This is a land which one can never forget, but invites you to take part, the more one accepts and takes part in the events of the people and culture, there is so much to make one happy and aware.
